Get a certified copy of a Title Deed for estates, divorce proceedings, loan applications, legal matters, and almost any other purpose—except property transfers.
NOTE: Certified copies from Pretoria, Cape Town and Johannesburg will be sent via Courier. Certified copies from All Other Deeds Offices will be Emailed. Copies for Clients Living Abroad will also be emailed. You CANNOT transfer a property or replace a lost original with a certified copy — replacement falls under Section 68 and must be handled by a conveyancing attorney.
Important: Even certified copies have "For Information Only" printed on them—this is standard for all documents issued by the Deeds Office. However, they are officially certified under Section 66 of the Deeds Registries Act, making them legally valid for almost all purposes.
